'TIDBITS' ABOUT THE FEBRUARY 2006 HORSE TRIALS
We hope the many riders, such as
Philip Dutton, Jan Thompson, Bobby Costello, Sarah Cousins and Denis Glaccum
enjoyed the new Dressage Court where four Arenas are now located and also the
new jumps on Cross Country. A super committee worked many hours to head up
the numerous Volunteer categories. HUGE THANK YOUS to: Mary Coldren

Stabling, Sam Dack Barn Builder, Course Builder plus and many more pre event
worker Bees making the farm shine on a winter day. 138 Volunteers
and Services were on the list for the weekend. Between 240 - 250
horses ran on Saturday with some of the B divisions returning for
Cross Country and or Stadium on Sunday along with the Advanced Combined Test.
Twenty-four finalist of Aiken's Red Cross Student Art Contest were on display
in the Palmetto Pavilion. Vendor Booths featured specialty soaps, chocolate, cheese,
tack etc. Hunt Cup Productions again had a camera on Cross Country
with a live feed to the Palmetto Pavilion on Saturday along with special
interviews. SDF was the site chosen for the USEA Officials Continuing
Education Session, they will have their own tent set up next to the Pavilion.
Competition continued on Sunday morning with the Advanced Combined Test, a dose
of Cross Country for about two hours and Stadium Jumping starting in the morning
and concluding around 3:00PM with Aiken's Red Cross Student Art Competition
Awards ceremony.
